Peggy Tomlinson

Peggy Joan (Franklin) Tomlinson, age 89, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

She was born to her parents, Thomas and Gracie Franklin, on September 1, 1933, in  Sumner County, Tennessee. At 20 years old, she became the wife of Mr. R.C. Tomlinson, on August 21, 1954. Mr. and Mrs. Tomlinson resided in Portland, Tennessee, and were married for over 65 years, until his death November 22, 2019. Peggy was a wonderful aunt, and great aunt to several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peggy Tomlinson was of the Baptist Faith. She was a very dedicated and reliable employee to AIG insurance company for 38 years, working customer service.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Jefferson Franklin; mother, Gracie Agnes (Suttle) Franklin; loving husband, R.C. Tomlinson; brother, Bobby Franklin; sister-in-law, Jean Franklin; and 2 brother-in-laws, Billy Link, and Clyde Clouse.

Mrs. Tomlinson is survived by her sisters, Rita Gregory (Charles), Yvonne Link, Helen Clouse, Donna Rakestraw (Tom); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Crestview Funeral Home, Memory Gardens, and Cremation has been entrusted with the final arrangements of Mrs. Peggy Tomlinson.

The Family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 16, from 4:00 P.M., until 8:00 P.M., and again on Friday morning, beginning at 9:00 A.M., until service time.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Peggy Joan (Franklin) Tomlinson,  will be conducted on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 A.M., from the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home,

officiated by Bro. Greg Young.

Burial is to follow in Crestview Memory Gardens Cemetery

Honorary Pall Bearers are Chris Link, Tim Tomlinson, Larry Lane, Thomas Young, and Austin Young. Barry Clouse, Tommy Rakestraw, Steve Link, Tommy Linson, Allen Linson, and Blake Linson will be serving as active pall bearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
