William (Bill) Beranek passed away peacefully on March 20, 1014 in Nashville, TN at the age of 84.
Bill was born in Otter Creek Township in Tama County, Iowa on April 19, 1929. He was raised on a farm before serving in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force as a cook.
Bill worked for 49 years as a supervisor at Cosco in Columbus, IN and Gallatin, TN, then transferred to GF Office Furniture.
Bill's favorite activities were playing golf, cooking and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of Gallatin Country Club.
Survivors include daughter Sonya Piper and her husband Wirt Piper of Gallatin, TN, son Bill Beranek and his partner Mario Garcia of Navasota, TX, granddaughter Lee Piper Caruana and her husband Paulo Caruana of Goodlettsville, TN, grandson Zach Piper of Nashville, TN, great-grandaughters Lillian Piper Caruana and Hannah Caruana; step-daughters Jo Ann Penzin , of Huntsville, AL, Shirley Deeks of Rock Hill, SC, and Sandra Kornegay of Dallas, TX, step-granddaughters Melissa Freeman, Julie Hovey and Cindy Turvin of Huntsville, AL; step-son Steve Fleming , daughter-in-law Cindy Price and granddaughter Tiffany Fleming.
Services will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens in Gallatin, TN on Monday, March 24, 2014. Visitation will be 12-2:00pm, with service at 2pm and burial to follow.
