Wanda Helen Davis

May 22, 1933 – October 12, 2025

God saw she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be; so He put His arms around her, and whispered, “Come with me.”

With tearful eyes we watched her, and saw her fade away; Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best!

Wanda Davis, age 92, of Hendersonville, peacefully departed on Sunday, October 12, 2025. She was born on May 22, 1933, in Vardaman, Mississippi. However, Memphis, Tennessee, was her true home. Wanda was a woman of great faith and devoted her life to the Lord. She worked as a secretary for Highland Street Church of Christ, in Memphis for many years, and worked as an assistant to the director of the Christian student center, at Memphis State University. Wanda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing laughs.

Wanda was a member of the Red Hat Society; she was known to be vibrant and had a zest for life. To celebrate her 90th birthday, she insisted on hiking up a mountain. Most recently, Wanda resided in Legacy Village, in Hendersonville, where she had many friends.

Wanda will be remembered for her caring nature, outgoing personality, as well as for her fabulous hats and sense of fashion. Although she will be dearly missed, her family and friends are comforted by the fact that she is at peace with the Lord.

Wanda Helen (Orman) Davis is survived by her daughter, Teresa Davis Fulwood (Mike); grandson, Alan Michael Fulwood (Jessica); granddaughter, Shannon Christie (Fulwood) Henze; and her great-grandchildren, Rhett Michael Henze, Hunter Anthony Kennedy, Sophia Danielle Fulwood, and Owen Elliott Fulwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Johnnie Farris Davis; father, Edgar Hunt Orman; mother, Venora (Chandler) Orman; and sister, Reba Ann Orman.
