Obituary

Thomas Warren Mason, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 86. Born October 21, 1939, in Spring Valley, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph Warren Mason and Emma Priscilla Linkhart Mason.

Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Throughout his life, he was known as a hard worker who did whatever it took to provide for his family. He worked as a farmer, a truck driver, and a real estate broker, meeting each role with determination and a strong sense of responsibility.

He will be remembered as on’ry, a stubborn redhead, and someone who never met a stranger. He was often quick to help neighbors who were struggling, and his willingness to lend a hand reflected the kind of man he was. Thomas also found great joy in life’s adventures. He loved sailing, which may have been his greatest passion, and he enjoyed traveling the country with his late wife, Kaye.

Thomas was also a man of faith and fellowship. He was a member of the Shriners, Masonic Lodge #6, Gallatin First Baptist Church, and later Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Through these communities, he built lasting friendships and remained connected to the people and values that meant so much to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Kaye Mason.

He is survived by his children, Roy (Deborah) Mason, Corinne (Travis) Kirby, and Tommy (Dana) Mason; and his sisters Eileen Brown and Joyce (Bob) Buerger. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Tiffany (Mitchell) Caison, Michael (Felicia) Russell, Olivia Kirby, Brian (Sarah) Mason, Megan (Edwin) Mason Lagos, and Emma Mason; and his great-grandchildren, Jonathan Caison, Kasey Caison, Brooklynn Russell, Emma Russell, and Elijah Russell. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Crestview Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation, 1623 Hwy 109 N, Gallatin, TN 37066. Mr. Mason was a casual man and would not expect you to dress up to come to this. A Masonic service will take place at 7pm. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Jeff Lake will be held there on Wednesday, October 21, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial with military graveside honors in Crestview Memory Gardens. The family will welcome friends and visitors one hour prior to the funeral.

Thomas’s life was marked by service, hard work, generosity, and a love for family, faith, and fellowship. His memory will be cherished always.
