Susan Belle Keen, 82, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025, in Nashville. Born on November 4, 1942, in Ocean Drive Beach, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Ernie Adams and Florrie Elizabeth Lewis Adams. Susan's life was marked by her strength, independence, and resourcefulness, attributes that endeared her to all who knew her.

A proud veteran, she served her country with honor in the Women's Army Corps, demonstrating her commitment and dedication to service. Susan was not only a steadfast individual but also the boss and the brains of the operation in her family circle, guiding those around her with her wisdom and insight.

An excellent cook, Susan filled her home with the warmth of her culinary creations, and her love for cooking was matched by her passion for gardening. She took great pride in maintaining a beautiful garden and often canned her own vegetables, sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends.

In addition to her many talents, Susan found joy in travel, particularly taking cruises and spending time at the beach. These experiences enriched her life, providing her with countless cherished memories.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Erbie Dee Edward Keen; daughter, Christine Keen; son, Nathan Keen.

She is survived by her son, Michael Dee Keen (Ophelia); grandchildren, Britny Clark (Jeffery), Craig Keen, Krista Branton (Preston), Brianna Keen-Dial (Michael), Abigail Keen; step-grandchildren, Adam Cooper, Nathan Cooper, Matthew Cooper, Nevaeh Dial; great-grandchildren, Ara Clark, Emma Clark, Chase Branton; daughters-in-law, Tara Keen and Loretta Keen.

Her visitation will be held on August 6, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Crestview Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation located at 1623 Hwy 109 N, Gallatin, TN 37066.  Inurnment will follow at a later date in Crestview Memory Gardens.

Susan Belle Keen’s legacy of strength, love, and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be profoundly missed.
