M.C. Mosseller of Hendersonville, TN, age 95, passed away on April 17, 2021. M.C. was the daughter of the late Walter Lee and Myrtle Mai Qualls. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Mosseller, her two sisters and three brothers.

M.C. was born in the community of Windle, Tennessee on December 6, 1925, and grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Livingston Academy in 1943 and attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville. In the Fall of 1944, she moved to Oak Ridge, TN to work at the Oak Ridge Project. M.C. was recruited by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to work as a stenographer and moved to Washington, D.C. in February of 1948. She retired as secretary to the Section Chief in the Crime Records Division in 1963. On November 5, 1960 she married John Mosseller at 16th & Decatur Church of Christ in Washington, D.C. They purchased a home in Seabrook, MD where she lived for 34 years. In 1998, M.C. moved to Warrenton, Virginia with her daughter and son-in-law, and in 2016 moved with them to Hendersonville, Tennessee.

M.C. enjoyed crocheting, sewing and making Christmas crafts, and for many years made homemade ornaments for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her extended family. M.C. will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, as well as for her chocolate chip cookies, Rice Krispy treats and various sweets which she enjoyed cooking and eating. She was a member of Woodmont Hills Church in Nashville at the time of her passing, where she enjoyed the company and fellowship of her Life Group friends.

M.C. Mosseller is survived by her daughter Diane and son-in-law Nic Wheeler of Hendersonville, granddaughter Sarah Wheeler of Gallatin, Tennessee, her grandson John Wheeler and his wife Laura Evans of Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, she leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends throughout the country.

A memorial service for M.C. will be held at 3:00 PM on April 20, 2021 at Crestview Funeral Home, 1623 Highway 109 North, Gallatin, TN 37055, with a visitation beginning at 2:00 PM. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her nephews Sam Qualls, Bob Qualls, Max Qualls, Mike Pennington, David Qualls and Mark Qualls.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.
