Mary “Kirkie” Dean, age 90, of Gallatin, entered into rest on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
She was born on November 22, 1934, in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Mary was a woman who enjoyed living a simple life. She was a wonderful homemaker to her husband and daughter. She had a green thumb growing flowers and vegetables. Mary spent countless hours canning her produce. She was a follower of Jesus Christ, and a member of First United Methodist Church of Gallatin.
In her leisure time, Mary was an avid reader, completed many crossword puzzles, and was a Kentucky Wildcat and Nashville Predator fan.
Mary was also proud to be a member of the DAR organization, Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mary will be remembered most for all the love she gave her family and friends. She will be dearly and deeply missed.
Mary Kirk (Carlock) Dean is survived by her daughter, Lori Lauria (Steven); grandson, Alexander Lauria; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Dean; father, Elbert H. Carlock; mother, Ruby (Hutchison) Carlock; sisters, Mattie Key, Edna Ray, Ruby Price; and brother, Hutch Carlock.
A graveside service will take place in Crestview Memory Gardens at 2:00 P.M., on Saturday, September 13, 2025, with Bob Snell officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior of the service, inside Crestview Funeral Home.
