Lois Evelyn Thurman (Parton), age 62, of Gallatin, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Nellie Parton, siblings, Bob Parton and Linda Parton.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband, James Thurman, of 30 years, children; Angela Ray, Raymond Summers, Jamie Thurman, Jason Thurman (Rhonda), Tony Thurman (Cindy) and Sara White (Isaac), grandchildren; Andrea Ray, Samuel Ray, Bruce Summers, Cassie Summers, Brianna Summers, Haley Thurman, Jasmine Thurman, Heaven Thurman, Jazline Thurman, Aleigha Thurman, Tanner White, Bentley White, Brandon Thurman, Dakota Thurman, Kelsey Thurman, Christopher Thurman, Lily Thurman and great-grandchild, Teagan Olivia Duncan.
Lois enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, Boyd's Bears, shopping and gardening. Lois is known for making her famous ‘hamburger pie'. Lois was a strong family woman who loved her kids and you always knew where she stood on issues.
Life celebration for Lois will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, 1623 Highway 109 North, in Gallatin, TN, on Thursday, March 31 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Lois will be laid to rest at the Gallatin City Cemetery.
