Kathleen Gillett Lamport
November 4, 1932 - October 8, 2025
Kathleen Lamport, lovingly referred to as “Kaki” passed away on October 8, 2025, in Westmoreland, Tennessee. She was 92.
Kathleen and her husband, Liston “Buddie” Lamport, relocated from Southaven Mississippi to Sumner County after her retirement in 1993. The original plan was to be near her daughter Pam’s family; however, they soon embraced the community and enjoyed many years with friends and family.
Kathleen was born on November 4, 1932, in Louisville, Mississippi to M.L. Gillett and Mazie Moore Gillett. The family later moved to Bigbee Valley, MS and she graduated in 1950 at nearby Brooksville High School, Brooksville, MS. After graduation, Kathleen moved to Memphis to attend and train at Draughn’s Business School. She would meet her future husband Buddie, and they would elope in December of 1950. They enjoyed a near 71- year marriage until his death in July of 2021.
Kathleen retired from banking in Memphis after 33 years as Branch Manager at South Gate Union Planters. She was “forced” to retire from her second career- with NAPS at First United Methodist Church in the “Baby Room” to keep her great grandchildren.
Kathleen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gallatin, Tennessee. She and Buddie later attended Long Hollow Gallatin Campus with Pam and her family. In more recent years she attended Strong Tower Church in Westmoreland when her health allowed it.
Besides her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband Liston “Buddie” Lamport, and grandson, Peter Williams.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Larry Williams, grandson, Drew (Kimberly) Williams and granddaughter, Haley (Dustin) Bandy, great-grandchildren, Emmy Grace Williams, Whitt Williams, Jordan (Logan) Abell, Josie Bandy, Jax Bandy, Crew Bandy and Coen Bandy and sister, Barbara (Jimmy) Bell.
The family wants to thank Stephanie Urell, Tamara Parrish and staff at Right Care in Gallatin as well as Aveanna Hospice. If desired, donations can be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her memory- or a church/ organization of your choice.
Her children arise and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28
