Kathie Peden

Kathie M. Peden, was born on October 21, 1959 and passed away on March 28, 2013. Kathie is preceded in death by her father, Robert McMurtry; mother, Evelyn Joan McMurtry Wakefield Briley; step-father, Donald Wakefield; and brother, Kenny McMurtry. She is survived by her husband, Sam Peden of Hendersonville, son, Michael Clark of Gallatin, step-father, Earl Briley of Portland; four sisters, Nancy Freeze, Judy David Duncan, Vickie Haden, all of Portland; Cindy Bill Petty of White House; three brothers, Bobby Joyce McMurtry of Cross Plains; Tony Rita McMurtry of Franklin, KY, and Ronnie Karen McMurtry of Portland; 6 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. For over 20 years, Kathie was an assistant to the owners of American Motor Sports and for several years prior to the time of her passing, she was the Executive Administrator to the owner of U.S. Pest Protection, Inc in Hendersonville. Kathie was gentle, kind, sweet, caring, and a strong spirit. She is now with God, at peace, no pain and working in God's flower garden. May we all be guided by her brilliant love and light. Kathie was quite but her love spoke volumes of gentleness, kindness, and sweetness which gave people courage to be the best they could be. For that we are grateful and will always carry the gift of Kathie's love with us. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Red Cross, or Salvation Army. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2013 from 4-7pm and again on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 1-2pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
