Karen S. Watson, age 61, of Gallatin, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the peace and comfort of her own home. She was born on October 4, 1964, in Waukegan, Illinois.
Karen always had the heart of service; at the age of 17, she enlisted in the United States Army. Following her six and half years of military service, she continued to support Soldiers and families working for Army Community Services (ACS) for over 20 years. Karen was proud of her military service and was passionate about her career and helping others. She was naturally a people person and made several life-long friendships.
Karen was an amazing mother and wife, who was very patient, loving, and caring. She was gifted in making a house into a home; she used her creative eye to decorate seasonally and envisioned many home projects that were great successes. Karen was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her extended families.
Karen had many gratifying experiencing traveling the world with both the Army and her family. She had lived in Germany, the Republic of Korea (where she was married), and Australia. She also traveled to Europe on four separate occasions with family; most recently she had a very meaningful trip to London.
Karen had a radiating beauty from the inside out. Although she will be dearly missed, her family and friends will treasure their memories together.
Karen Sue (Bessert) Watson is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Sean Watson; sons, Donny Watson, Tommy Watson, Bradley Watson; mother, June E. Bessert; sisters, Peggy Bessert-Murphy (Cliff), Annette Liles (Jim); and brother, Robbin Bessert.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Bessert; sister, Nancy Marchiori; and father-in-law, Jimmie Watson.
Visitation with the Watson family will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
Inurnment in Crestview Memory Gardens will immediately follow, with the rendering of Military Funeral Honors.
