In Honor of Joan Goodall Thompson
“Even to your old age and gray hairs; I am He. I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4
Joan Goodall Thompson, age 91, gained her heavenly home on July 18, 2025. She was born December 7, 1933 to Harley and Freddie Goodall, she was one of ten siblings.
In her early years, Joan was a floor supervisor at Gary Shirt Factory, formerly located on Maple Street. She left to enjoy home life with her family; she soon became “Mama Jo” to many children in their young developing years.
Outside of work, Joan enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and cooking. She was creative and loved needle work and ceramics. Joan was a great woman of faith who loved her Lord, and was a loyal prayer warrior. At the tender age of 15, Joan accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at a church in Lafayette. She served in ministries in her local church until she was no longer physically able. However, that did not hinder her to witness her faith to others.
The Thompson Family would like to extend a special thank you to Front Porch Senior Living, for the care she received during her stay.
Joan Goodall Thompson is survived by her daughters, Connie Gregory (Mark), Cristal Russell; grandchildren, Adrian Johnson (Michael), Kyle Gregory (Laura), Jonathon Young (Shawna), Jeremy Russell (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren, Cole Johnson, Cade Johnson, Charlotte Gregory, Sawyer Gregory, Olivia Gregory, Madison Young, Benjamin Young, Sam Young; sister, Debbie Oliver (Tony); and brother, Chris Goodall (Shari).
