LEWIS, Sr., J. C. Age 91 of Gallatin passed away March 2, 2014.
Mr. Lewis was born in Cadiz, KY to the late Courtney Trice Boswell & Junius Lewis. He attended college at the University of Kentucky where he received his bachelor's degree, after that he attended and graduated with a master's degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While attending school in Louisiana he fell in love with and married Anna Bradbury. He was a fun loving generous man who loved a good joke. J.C. always had a way of keeping the peace for everyone. He loved people and exemplified the life of a constant missionary. He was a teacher of the true meaning of life, which is love God and love others. J.C. had a contagious joyful spirit, who was a member of First Baptist in Gallatin, Oakstreet Baptist in Portland, and attended Long Hollow Baptist for the last few years. J.C. was a great, godly man who will be forever missed.
Survived by loving wife of 62 years, Anna Bradbury Lewis; adoring children, J. Courtney Lewis, Jr. (Dianne), Tim Lewis (Melissa), Daniel Thomas Lewis, Ramay Lewis (Connie) & June Ann Cortes (Luis), Peter Jew; grandchildren, J. Courtney, III (Austin), Chris Lewis (Jessie), Jonathon Lewis, Geoffrey Lewis, Christopher Hollis, Timmy Lewis, Julianna Lewis, Kyra Altes (Kyle), Simon Lewis, Daniel Cortes, Sean Cortes, Desiree Cortes, Angela Cortes; great-grandchildren, Skye Lewis, Leah Lewis, Talynn Ryman.
A Life Celebration will be held 2pm Saturday at First Baptist Church in Gallatin. Family will serve as Pallbearers. Entombment will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens.
