Obituary

Hisae S. Connolly passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Born on February 8, 1931, in Japan. She was the daughter of the late Yozo and Shige Sensui. Having immigrated from Japan in 1952, she lived a long life marked by skill, generosity and love of her family.

Mrs. Connolly was an extraordinary master tailor who began her craft at the age of 15. Over the years, she became known for the care and talent she brought to her work. She was also an incredible quilter, often incorporating unique Japanese fabrics into her creations, a distinctive touch that reflected both her artistry and ancestry. Her hands created beautiful and lasting pieces; her dedication to the craft was a very meaningful part of her life.

She was loved by many and was quite generous with her time and energy. Those who knew Hisae will remember her as one who gave freely of herself, sharing her gifts, kindness and personality in ways that left a very lasting impression on those around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Keith Elden Connolly; daughter Patricia Ann Connolly; and granddaughter Robyn Stewart.

Hisae is survived by her daughter, Linda Connolly and her husband Charles Gregory Hein; her grandchildren, James (Jessica) Smith, Alex Connolly and Jennifer DeMoss; her great-grandchildren, Jameson, Carter, Lauren, Beau, Sam, Jesse, Patric and Levi. She leaves behind a family who will continue to carry her memory forward with much love and affection.
