Heather Ladawn Bilbrey, beloved mother, daughter, sister, Mimi, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. Born on May 26, 1976, also in Nashville, Heather’s life was one marked by love, resilience, and a zest for living that touched all who knew her.
Heather’s early years were shaped by her remarkable spirit and athleticism. During her time at Beech High School (Class of 1995), she distinguished herself as a talented athlete, playing with vigor and passion on both the girl's basketball and softball teams.
Those closest to Heather will remember her as the life of the party—funny, adventurous, and a free spirit who could light up any gathering. Her sense of humor and thoughtful nature endeared her to friends and family alike, making every shared moment one to be treasured. She approached life with enthusiasm and courage, embracing challenges with bravery and inspiring those around her to do the same.
She was preceded in death by her son Zachary Tyler Norman; father Gary Bilbrey; and husband Michael Minick.
Heather was above all a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and Mimi. She is survived by her cherished daughter Caylie (Austin) Williams, her beloved son Nate (Annah) Norman, her loving mother Louise Collins, and her step-father Larry Collins. Heather’s bond with her sister, April (Damon) Bilbrey Burkeen, was filled with love and joy, creating memories that will be held close by those she leaves behind.
Her legacy continues through the lives of her grandchildren, whom she adored: Octavia Williams, Atlas Williams, Brently Norman, Bryson Norman, Ella Claire Norman, Tess Norman Stocks, Bentley Stocks, Tripp Stocks, Parker Stocks, and Braelynn Stocks. Each of them carries forward the spark and warmth that Heather brought to her family every day.
Heather’s family will always remember her bravery, her unwavering strength, and her fighting spirit. She faced life’s challenges with unyielding determination. Whether celebrating milestones or supporting those she loved, Heather’s presence and guidance were steady and anchor-like.
A visitation to honor Heather’s memory will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Crestview Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation, 1623 Hwy 109 N, Gallatin, TN. Immediately following the visitation, a Celebration of Life service lead by Tommy Booker will take place at the same location at 4:00pm.
Heather’s legacy lives on in every life she touched. She will be sorely missed, but her laughter, courage, and boundless spirit will echo in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
