Gene Carr

Gene Carr, age 85, of Hermitage, entered into rest on November 27, 2024, in the peace and comfort of his own home.

He was born in rural Macon County, Tennessee, to Arnett and Nadine Carr, on April 21, 1939.

Gene graduated from Gallatin High School, in 1957; he continued his education at the University of Tennessee of Knoxville, and graduated with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering in 1962.

Gene worked with McWhorter & Franklin Engineers of Nashville for 30 years. In his career he worked in Virginia, Alabama, and Tennessee, before he retired in 2018. In his leisure time, he loved watching sports and traveling.

“Gene” Arnett Eugene Carr, is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy (Haynes) Carr; daughters, Joannah Carr (Pearl Bryant), Schuyler Crowe (Joseph); step-daughters, Amy Staley (Jeremy), Tammie Brace-Turnipseed (Will); granddaughter, Parker Lampley; grandson, Oliver Lampley; step-grandsons, Mason Brace, Tanner Turnipseed; and brother, Randell Carr (Elaine).

He was preceded in death by his son, Lee A. Carr; father, Arnett Odell Carr; and mother, Nadine (Hire) Carr.

Funeral services in honor of Gene, will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Crestview Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. Visitation with the Carr family will be from 11:00 A.M., until time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Bro. Jerry Ladd will be officiating services. Interment in Crestview Memory Gardens will immediately follow the funeral service.
