Gary Wayne O'Brien

Gary Wayne O’Brien, age 80, of Portland, Tennessee, passed away at High Point Health – Gallatin, on June 30, 2025. He was born on March 5, 1945, to the late Martin and Ethel O’Brien.

In addition to his parents, Mr. O’Brien was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy O’Brien; brothers, George O’Brien, Bennie O’Brien, Tony O’Brien; and sisters, Jeannie Brooks, Carolyn Reese, and Katrina Mencer.

Mr. O’Brien was a member of Portland Church of Christ.

Mr. O’Brien is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia O’Brien; daughters, Amanda Wheelis (Larry), Regina Hoover (Andrew), Shelley Black (Bryan); grandchildren, Daniel Brown (Shelby), Derek Henson, Sarah Brown, Amy Brown, Payton Black, Mason Hoover; and great-grandchildren, Lennox Hudson, Aubree Brown, and Huxley Henson.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Gary O’Brien will be held on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at 1:00 P.M., at Portland Church of Christ (located: 200 North Russell, Portland, TN).
