Elsie Cislo, age 74, of Hendersonville, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

She was born in Lombard, Illinois, on March 12, 1952. Elsie built a successful career in office administration across numerous industries in the Chicago, Detroit, and Nashville areas. She first relocated to the Nashville area in 1988 and returned in 1999. She ultimately retired as a medical claims processor.

Elsie had a deep appreciation for nature and a love for all of God’s creatures, especially horses, deer, turkeys, and dogs. She enjoyed feeding the wildlife on her properties in Columbia and Gallatin, and she found great joy in working in her yard.

Elsie was a devoted wife who upheld traditional values in her home. Though she did not have biological children, she was a caring stepmother who gave her love freely.

In retirement, Elsie remained active in senior activities in the Lenox Community as long as her health permitted, and she was devoted to her church, Trinity Lutheran.

Elsie will be remembered for her steadfast effort, strong character, and pure intentions.

Although she will be dearly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is finally at peace.

Elsie Louise (Fischer) Cislo’s memory will be cherished by her stepsons, Geoffrey Cislo (LeAnn) and Gregory Cislo (Sherry); her brother, Gilbert “Sonny” Fischer; and her nephew, Harold Burnett.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Edward Cislo; her father, Gilbert Fischer; her mother, Renata (Reich) Fischer; and sister Linda (Fischer) Burnett.

The family is grateful to Pastor Ken Shaw and to all of Elsie’s friends who guided her through the progression of Parkinson’s disease with great care, concern, and love. Their support made a meaningful difference.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gallatin on August 8 at 12:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to gather, share a meal, and celebrate the many stories and memories created over the years.
