Doris Brown Martin, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away at her home on September 24, 2019 after a brief illness. Mrs. Martin was born on July 16, 1935 in Portland, Tennessee to the late Arnold Odell Brown and the late Joy Mae Deasy Brown. No words can express the sense of loss we feel in the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother. She was a pastor's wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Sunday School teacher, choir member, wise counselor to many, and so much more. She was one of the godliest women the world has ever known. She loved her family fiercely and she will be deeply missed. However, we know that without a doubt, she is lifting her lovely soprano voice in praise to her Savior today. She has joined her precious husband, Carl, and son, Duane, who passed on to glory before her. We love you and we shall see you again! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Carl R. Martin, and her son, Duane Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Debra Crawley (Doug), Donna Strader (Jim), and Darla Martin; brother, Richard Brown (Kay); sister, Diane Brown; daughter-in-law, Joellen Martin; 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, September 28th at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Hendersonville with her grandson, Rev. Daniel Crawley officiating. Interment will follow in Old Brush Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, September 27th from 4-7 P.M. at Crestview Funeral Home and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial Donations may be made to the Old Brush Cemetery Fund. Arrangements Entrusted To: Crestview Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 1623 Highway 109 North, Gallatin (615)452-1943 www.crestviewfh.com
