Dewey H. Sizemore, age 94 of Gallatin, TN, passed away May 29, 2019 at the home of his daughter, Mary Phillips, where he had been residing for the last 3 years. Mr. Sizemore was born on February 24, 1925 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Rufus Edmond Sizemore and the late Florence Ruth Jones Sizemore Knapp. Mr. Sizemore served in the U.S. Army during World War II at Pearl Harbor and received the WWII Victory Medal of Honor. Dewey was a self-taught and very accomplished artist; his artwork can be seen many places including the images and logos for Sunbeam and Holsom Bread. He also owned several print shops in Tennessee and Georgia. Mr. Sizemore was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother; he will be deeply missed by his family. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his step-father, Wilbur David Knapp; wives, Mary Womack and Lou Thelma Atkinson; 2 grandchildren, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his children; Sharon (Norman) Boyett of Jacksonville, FL; Sheldon Sizemore of Middleburg, FL; Deborah Parrott of Middleburg, FL; Larry (Janet) Sizemore of Pleasant Grove, UT; Audrey (Eugene) Frier of Middleburg, FL; Mary (Danny) Phillips of Gallatin, TN; Detrick Sizemore of Montana; Peyton (Alicia) Sizemore of Athens, TN and 34 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 3, 2019 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221. Visitation with the family will be at Crestview Funeral Home on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 11 A.M.-12 P.M.
