Carol Johnson, age 61 of Gallatin, passed away February 26, 2019. Mrs. Johnson was born November 17, 1957 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Roland Robert Vespa and the late Joyce Ann Ashoff. Carol was a woman of opposites. Cynical, tough, tactless and crude. But on the other hand, loving, caring, devoted to family, organized and brilliant at reading EKG's. Physicians valued her expertise and her ability to get things done. Family and friends treasured her wit and her honest view of the world and will forever remember her multiple Facebook emoji's and her caution of "love you and be careful!" She will be sorely missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Justin Johnson and her nephew, Ricky Vespa. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Johnson; children, Kristina Lynn Johnson Smith (BJ), Ami Michele Johnson Stringer (Matt), and Drew Johnson (Jen Lester); grandchildren, Bradyn and Bella Stringer; sister, Patricia Redford; brothers, Donald Vespa (Lyn) and Richard Vespa (Sue); brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Lori Johnson; best friend, Diane Kurtz; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A Life Celebration Service honoring Carol will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home with Jeff Nichols officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service. Arrangements Entrusted To: Crestview Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 1623 Highway 109 North, Gallatin; Phone: (615)452-1943, Obituary Line: (615)452-7589, www.crestviewfh.com
