Bobbie Louise Parker Stephens, of Gallatin, TN passed away Sunday, July 27th, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. Bobbie, or “Baba” as she was lovingly known to many, was born September 21st, 1939 in Cottontown, TN to the late John R. and Maggie Durham Parker.
She is preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Clarice Talley and Buddy Parker, as well as many dear relatives and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Kenneth Stephens, Sr. of Gallatin, TN, daughter, Deborah (Norman T.) Gardner of Gallatin, TN, son, Kenneth Stephens, Jr of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Shanna (Chris) Gregory, Morgan (Mikey) Butler, and Kenneth (Autumn) Stephens III; great-grandchildren, Brady Garrison, Mary Chase Garrison, Mack Butler, Finn Gregory, Tripp Butler, and Addison Jane Butler.
Bobbie loved spending time with friends and family, whether it was impressing them with her skills on water skis during the many summers at Center Hill Lake, beating them in games of cards (she’d only let her grandchildren win), or spending her winters as a “snowbird” in Okeechobee, Florida! She made friends everywhere she went, and our family has felt their love and support during the last several years.
Above all things, Bobbie was a faithful servant of the Lord, spending many years serving as a Sunday School Teacher, sharing God’s love with children throughout her community. She also served through programs such as Meals on Wheels; and was a devoted member of Eastern Star for over 60 years serving on numerous committees and leading schools of instruction.
She will be remembered by those who loved her as a teacher of the good things in life: God’s love, devotion to family, the joy of a day on the lake, and the fun of a good card game! While we will miss her desperately, we know that because of her love for us, and her dedication to the Lord, we will get to be with her again one day.
Pall bearers are Kenneth Stephens, III, Chris Gregory, Mikey Butler, Brady Garrison, Mack Butler, and Finn Gregory. Honorary pall bearers are Norman T. Gardner, Tripp Butler, Joe Blankenship, Harold Pulliam, Gordon White, George Snow, Mike Tuck, and Rand Parsons.
