Obituary

Ann Grissom, age 96, of Gallatin, went to be with her Lord and savior on March 18, 2026.

She was born on November 30, 1929, in Hermitage, Tennessee. Ann was a devoted wife and mother. She was able to travel all over the world and United States, with her husband, Gerald, who served in the Military, including Germany and England. She made many lifelong friendships along the way. Ann had retired from working at the Post Office in Tampa, Florida, before returning to Tennessee.

Ann collected elegant antiques and glassware from the countries she had traveled to, each piece holding a special story. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and was a talented piano player. Ann was known to be outgoing, share many laughs with others, and was a wonderful confidant.

Above all, Ann was a faithful Christian and shared the love of Jesus Christ with others. She was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church for many years.

Annie Gray (Downs) Grissom, is survived by her son, Jerry Grissom (Romona); granddaughters, Andrea Laine, Melanie Keefe, Victoria Browder; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Browder, Bella Browder, Robbie Thurman; sisters, Virginia Phillips, Emma Haggard; and beloved canine companion, Bella.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Gerald Grissom; father, James Downs; mother, Maude (Wallace) Downs; brothers, James Downs, Andy Downs, Bill Downs, Irving Downs, Thomas Downs; and sister, Irene Tucker.

Visitation will be held at Crestview Funeral Home on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Pastor Jeff Lake will be officiating. Interment in Crestview Memory Gardens will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, the Grissom family kindly request donations be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
