I came to know Joost when I moved to California with my fiance Warren Blackman, uncle of Joan. Joost was one of the best blessings to the Blackman family, and he was Warren’s best man at our wedding. He was the “best” in so many ways: best host, best smile, best sense of humor, best intellect, best nephew, lover of the best music… and best friend. When I reminisce about our time in California, the good times with Joost and Joan’s family are my best memories. The world was a better place with him in it.

In Isaiah 66:13 it says, “I will give you comfort, as one whom his own mother comforts.” As you celebrate Joost’s life and your memories, let God’s comfort embrace you all.

Rebecca and Jeff, so sorry to hear of your loss of your Father. I lost mine almost 2 years ago and understand the void. Close your eyes and see him resting in the arms of Jesus. You will see each other again. Love in Christ.
