I was so stunned to hear about Charles. I remember the first time I met him at the Strawberry Festival Parade when his golf cart caught fire. I enjoyed knowing Charles. He was a good friend. He was the first to trust me to decorate a wedding with balloons and surprise the bride with red noses at the end of the ceremony!! He was a talented magician, fire eater, clown, artist, and balloon artist. He used his talents to make people smile and have fun. He will certainly be missed.

What a shock! Middle TN Fellowship of Christian Magicians met Tuesday evening after we heard the news and spent the whole time sharing stories about Charles. He was a multi-talented artist and performer. Not a big talker until he was decked out to perform magic or clowning or balloons or fire-eating. His persona changed with his various performance costumes. In addition to the FCM, He was a member of both Nashville’s Ring 37 and Murfreesboro’s Ring 252 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. We will miss him terribly at all of these clubs’ meetings.
Annette – you are in our prayers and thoughts. Let us know if there is anything more we can do.

Our deepest condolences to Annette and all of the Rhodes family. Charles was a wonderful man who left us far too soon. His talents and joyful spirit will be missed by those of us privileged to have called him friend. I had the honor of performing with Charles many times and will truly miss not being able to share in his magic.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Charles. I did not know him personally but I know his brother Aaron and his parents. I am so sorry as this was so sudden and unexpected. I remember seeing Charles perform his Magic Ministry at Union Chapel General Baptist Church and he gave such joy to everyone. I have heard it said that when we do not know the reason that a loved one goes so soon is; God needed him more. He touched so many lives while on this earth I am sure he will continue to do so even after his passing. Prayers for the entire family during this difficult time.

I was privileged to meet Charles only a couple of times, and, it was easy to tell what a good person he was. I was happy and privileged to have worked with you, Annette, on the magic items you gifted to him. Charles’ activities left a lasting, good impression on those lucky enough to be in his company. He will live on by virtue of the good he has left in this world. We will all miss him. I remain at your service.

What a Blessing I have received from knowing Charles and Annette for the last 20 plus years. You both have touched my life and I will never be the same. Charles had fulfilled his mission from God on this earth and touched many many lives. Charles once said to me how Blessed he was to have such a supportive Wife. That everything he wanted to do or try Annette was always very encouraging and always there by my side. And I hope I’m the same for her. I’ve never known anyone who “loved sharing the joy of magic to others, especially to children (who may not always see that they are loved) than Charles Rhodes. Several years ago Charles called me and said he was asked to perform Magic / Balloon Animals for a 5 year Afro-American boys Birthday Party. He said he would be glad too. Steve I’m leaving that Birthday Party now, and the little birthday boy came up to me and put his arms around my leg and said “I wished you were my Dad.” Thanks Charles !

I was so shocked to hear about Charles’ passing. I am so thankful I got to see him at the Winter Carnival. Charles was there when I started in Magic. I’ll never forget the shows at the Palace Theater in Gallatin with him. He always had a smile and something good to say. And even though we might go a year without seeing each other it was as though no time had passed and we were picking up where we left off. I will be praying for the family during this difficult time.

I did not know Charles very well, but the few times I did get to shake his hand and talk, I was totally impressed with his friendliness with every one. Through out the magic rings, 252 & 37, I heard nothing but the best for Charles. I am honored to have known Charles. May God Bless.
