Betty Jean Kinnard – Age 74 of Castalian Springs passed away November 16, 2014.

Betty was a devoted, kind, caring and loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She was the soul and rock of her family. She was a very selfless and helping woman that would always lend a hand. She had many hobbies but some of her favorite were shopping, hunting, knitting, sewing, and playing the piano, singing, cooking, flowers, gardening, dancing and most of all spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Preceded in death by her mother, Louise Steele; father, Earl Akin Troupe; sister, Patricia Cothron. Survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Kinnard, Sr.; children, James Kinnard, Jr. (Elaine) and Steven Kinnard; grandchildren, Stephen Kinnard, Jr. LaShawna Summers, Alicia Ruiz, Joseph Bowman, Bobby Bowman and Jennifer Barton (Donald); 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry Glasgow (Bill) many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A Life Celebration will be held 1:00pm Friday at Crestview Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00pm – 8:00pm, Thursday 4:00pm – 8:00pm & Friday 11:00am – 1:00pm at CRESTVIEW FUNERAL HOME 1623 HWY 109 N GALLATIN TN, 37066 615-452-1943 crestviewfh.com

    Betty and I drove school buses together. I will always remember her as funny, caring and a wonderful person. We shared many good laughs together and I considered her my friend. Deepest condolences to her family and friends…… she will be missed.

    Mrs. Kinnard was a wonderful lady and she was very good to me she was my school bus driver in the 70’s. I will miss her and I am praying for her family. I’m so sorry for your loss.
